Transition Specialist; Middle School to College

Position Summary: The Middle School to College Transition Specialist is responsible for initiating contact, disseminating college transition information to identified eighth grade students with mild disabilities through high school. Work with school districts and EKU Extension Agents to provide intervention when necessary. Track data within metrics of success spreadsheet.
Minimum Educational Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Rehabilitation Counseling or related degree is required. Degree must be from a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution.
Minimum Experience Qualifications: One year of experience working in transition planning for students with disabilities or related area is required.
Qualification Equivalencies: No equivalency.
Desired Qualifications Knowledge of special populations: students with disabilities
Knowledge of the transition process through either the high school process or the college process.
