Planetarium Educator
Eastern Kentucky University

Position Summary:
The Planetarium Educator is responsible for setting up and presenting pre-recorded programs as well as presenting "live" astronomy lectures to the public.

Minimum Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required from a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution.

Minimum Experience Qualifications:
One year of experience in conducting lectures to the public or to an audience required.

Qualification Equivalencies:
No equivalencies.
Desired Qualifications Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills, supplemented by a working knowledge of astronomy is preferred, but not required.
Good computer skills.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Special Instructions to Applicants Incumbent must be available to work evening and weekend hours.

Additional Information: In addition to setting up and presenting pre-recorded programs and "live" astronomy lectures to the public, the incumbent provides excellent customer service and collects and accounts for all cash transactions for the planetarium and gift shop according to established procedures.
